Within Hainan province, Qionghai Bo'ao Airport was inaugurated on March 2016 to provide air support to the residents of Qionghai. The airport is built 20 kms southwest of the city and the trip from the airport takes 35-40 minutes. A train station exists opposite the airport in Bo’ao from which trains go to the outskirts of Qionghai within 8 minutes. Urumqi Air and China Eastern Airlines serve the most routes i.e. Lanzhou, Taiyuan, Chongqing, etc.
