Longgong Caves

Anshun, China

The Longgong Cave (Dragon Palace Cave) is located in the Guizhou Province, China. Covering an area of 60 square kilometers the Cave is the longest cave in the world and has the widest underground waterfall. On the floor of the caves, there are numerous springs that join to form one stream which sounds like a musical instrument as it flows by. The caves are divided into various sections, namely the Heavenly Pool, Longmen Waterfall, Whirlpool, Dragon Gate Waterfall, Avalokitesvara Cave (Buddhist), and the Tiger’s Cave. LED colored lamps have been fitted in the Dragon Cave. These are reflected in the stalactites and stalagmites and make the cave look like a fairytale castle.
