HUNAN PROVINCIAL MUSEUM
Hunan Provincial Museum
Although it was built in 1951, it was not opened for public access until 1974. It underwent a major reconstruction in 2017 and it is now reopened for tourists. You can find more than 100,000 relics and objects in the Hunan Provincial Museum. The most impressive and valuable one is the Mawangdui Han Tomb which features a well-preserved corpse of a female who lived more than 2,000 years ago during the Western Han Dynasty.
You can also see numerous cultural relics and objects from the time of the Wu Kingdom. Once you finish seeing the exhibits, you can enjoy a quiet outdoor environment or visit the nearby Revolutionary Martyr’s Park.
