Dandong Korean War Museum

The Korean War Museum (Memorial of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea) is located in Dandong, Liaoning Province. Dandong lies on the China-North Korea border and overlooks Sinuiju city of N. Korea across the Yalu River. There is a massive panoramic painting showing the 1950 Battle of the Ch'ongch'on River which was a great victory for the Chinese People's Volunteer Army. The painting is 16 meters tall and 132 meters long and is placed on a revolving platform in the middle of the main hall. The other exhibits include 700 photographs and nearly 1,000 charts, models, sculptures, and paintings that pertain to the war and the sufferings of the Chinese POWs.
