Foshan Ancestral Temple (Foshan Zu Miao) is a popular 600-years-old Daoist temple in the Foshan City, Guangdong Province in southern China. It was constructed in honor of Beidi, the leader of all gods in Foshan. Thus it got its name of Ancestral Temple. The rich frescos on the large ceiling are really worth seeing. The complex itself is spread over 3000 square meters and has the Portico, The Festival Hall of Truth, the Main Hall, the Theater of a Thousand Good Fortunes, and the Pond of Scented Brocade. The Theater has many gilded carvings worth seeing and it is the most famous ancient theater stage in China.
