Jiaxiu Pavilion

The Jiaxiu Pavilion has a very interesting history. The governor of Guiyang during the Ming Dynasty wanted to improve the Fengshui of the city. So he ordered the construction of the Jiaxiu Pavilion above a gigantic rock. It is said that this structure was a great success and the region has produce some of the most talented and knowledgeable scholars of China. The Pavilion was later extended during the Qing Dynasty. It also has a museum showcasing the folklore and ethnicity of the region. At night, the Pavilion forms a glittering silhouette against the skyline of Guiyang and can be seen from a great distance.
