Hong Village

Huangshan, China

Declared a UNESCO heritage site is the Hong Village in Anhui Province of China. It is close to the southwest side of the picturesque Mount Huangshan. The layout of the village is like an ox when seen from the slopes. The nearby Leigang Hill forms the head of the ox while two gigantic trees on either side of the hill look like horns. The four bridges that are built over the Jiyin rivulet look like the legs of an ox. The cluster of houses looks like the body of the ox. As the Jiyin stream flows between the houses, the smaller clusters look like internal organs. Some scenes from the film "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" were shot here.
