Meteorite Shower Museum

In the year 1976, there had been major meteorite showers in a 500 square kilometer area near Jilin City, Jilin Province, China. After this event, the Meteorite Shower Museum was established. The meteorite weighing 1,770Kgs found here is considered the largest and heaviest one in the world. The Museum also has 41 specimens from meteorite showers in other parts of the world. It has a special exhibition displaying different aspects of the universe and the solar system, and how meteorites are formed. The Museum is also a research center for meteor activity in space. This is a unique and must-see place in Jilin.
