Since it is located on the Hai Riverbank, the Ancient Culture Street used to be a place where sailors would get together to worship the Sea Goddess. It is believed that this street has been around since the 15th century and the Qing Dynasty. Even today’s buildings imitate that style and you can feel the unique Chinese architecture.
Ancient Culture Street is a huge pedestrian street filled with various small shops and stores. You can buy antiques, relics, old books, jewelry, classic figurines, and even furniture. The Tianhao Palace located in the center of the street was built in 1326 AD to pray for the protection of the sailors going to the sea.
