Tianjin Confucius Temple

Tianjin, China

Tianjin Confucius Temple was built over five centuries ago during the Ming Dynasty, but it only gained popularity in the 18th century. Today, this is one of the oldest architectural complexes in Tianjin. The temple was opened to tourists in 1993 after it was restored. You can find it in the Nankai District which is close to the Ancient Culture Street.

The main building is the Hall of Great Accomplishment, while other vital structures included the Apricot Pavilion and Shrine of Great Wise Men. The last one served to honor Confucius’ ancestors. The tourists can also enjoy goldfish ponds and decorative archways.
