Zhang Residence

Originally built during the Ming Dynasty, the Zhang Residence was purchased by the wealthy and renowned Zhang family during the Qing Dynasty. It is located near the scenic Twin Bridges tourist attraction in Zhouzhuang Water Town, Jiangsu Province, China. It has 70 rooms that are surrounded by a beautifully landscaped garden and a pond spread over an area of 1,800 square meters. The most unique aspect of the site is the Yuyan Hall which has a river flowing through it. The hall is large and has a high ceiling to give access to a number of boats into the residence at one time.
