In the Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Qinghai, China, Qilian county is provided air access through the Haibei Qilian Airport which was completed and began service in August 2018. A high-elevation airport, it is meant for light traffic. The downtown of Qilian is 44 kms apart from the airport and can be reached in 50 minutes while going through the National Highway 304. So far, the only destination is Xining served by China Eastern Airlines.
