Kanas Lake Nature Reserve
Altay Region, China
In the north of the Xinjiang Province, China lies the Altay Mountain Range that spreads over Kazakhstan, Russia, and Mongolia. This region is famous for its Kanas Lake Nature Reserve, which is a picturesque, self-sustaining ecosystem. The lakes are like mirrors that reflect the surrounding scenery. The spring and summer seasons bring colorful flowers. In the autumn the lakes reflect orange-red hues of the falling leaves. In the winters, the snow-capped peaks look like beautiful white lace in the ripples of the lakes. The Reserve is a perfect place for photography. You must visit the Moon and Wolong Bays, Friendship Peak Glacier, Hemu Grasslands and village, and the Yaze Lake.
