Xiqiao Mountain

When nearly 50 million years ago there was a volcanic eruption, molten lava was spread over a vast area of the Pearl River Delta. When the lava cooled down, it formed the unique and beautiful Xiqiao Mountain. When eruptions continued 72 more peaks were formed in the surrounding areas. Today, the Xiqiao Mountain range has picturesque landscapes and plenty of greenery that looks like paradise. The most prominent tourist attractions here are the Nanhai Guanyin Culture Park, where the 66-meter tall statue of the goddess Guanyin take center stage. Then there are the lovely Baiyun Caves as well as the Baofeng Temple that are worth seeing.
