Mt. Taipingshan and the Baolin Temple

The Baolin Temple is located on Mount Taipingshan in the Shunde District of Guangdong Province, China. This Buddhist temple is not only a scenic tourist attraction but also a place of worship even today. Being at a high elevation, the temple complex provides a fantastic panoramic view of the city below. You have to climb countless steps to reach the massive temple gates but there are paths that go uphill and most tourists find them easier to traverse than the steps. The square at the top of Taipingshan has a huge statue of the Buddha that can be seen from a long distance. The architecture of the temple is very ornate, colorful, and grand.
