St Ignatius (Xujiahui) Cathedral

This is a Catholic cathedral which is situated at Xujiahui in Shanghai China. From 1960, this church has always been Shanghai’s Bishop’s seat as well as the Diocesan Headquarters of Roman Catholic church in Shanghai. This is a church that was built by Jesuits who was a Frenchman and an English architect known as William Doyle from 1905 to 1910. The glasses of this cathedral have been stained but the replacement has been made recently with those that incorporate the characters of the Chinese and their iconography. There is an English mass which takes place at noon on Sundays.
