Near the city of Guilin, China are the beautiful Longsheng Rice Terraces. The most spectacular among the rice terraces are in the Ping'an Zhuang Village. Ethnic minorities like the Miao, Dong, Zhuang, and the Yao live in these parts. The village is a popular tourist attraction because the rice terraces look very unusual. When seen from a distance, the “Seven Stars and the Moon” terraces look just as if a moon is surrounded by seven stars. Similarly, there are many other quaintly named terraces that have strange formations and are a visual delight. You will be treated to colorful live performances by the locals so be sure to take your camera.
