Formed by the melting snow of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, the Baishui River or White Water River is located near Lijiang, China. It is a tributary of the Jinsha River (upper Yangtze River). The bed of the Baishui River has limestone sediments that give the river a milky-white appearance, hence its name. The river flows through the enchanting Blue Moon Valley which is shaped like a crescent. When the river water glistens under the sunlight, the valley looks like a moon at the foothills of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. So that you don’t miss this beautiful scene, cable cars are available to get the best sights and photographs.
