Turtle Head Isle
Wuxi, China
In the Jiangsu province of China lies the spectacular Turtle Head Island. It has two main entrances, the Jainjin Gate and the Lishe Gate. The island boasts of a small forest, a Chinese landscaped garden, a memorial arch, a lighthouse, the Changchung Bridge, the Guanfu Temple, and the Huxin Pavilion. In spring (April), the Bridge is surrounded by cherry blossoms. These were planted by the Japanese as a gesture of friendship between Japan and China. The blossoms look extraordinary against the rest of the green landscape on the Island. For the benefit of tourists, there are plenty of resorts, restaurants, souvenir shops, waterfront eateries, and other facilities. You can also enjoy boat rides in the day and cruises at night on Lake Taihu.
