Bajiao Village (Karnang)
Xiahe, China
With a backdrop of scenic mountains and a landscape of flowering grasslands, the Bajiao Village (Karnang) is an idyllic place in the Gansu Province of China. The village is surrounded by a wall that was built 2,000 years ago during the Han Dynasty reign which has remained intact. In fact, the wall itself is the major tourist attraction. On a nearby hill, a staircase has been built to the top. This forms the perfect vantage point to get a beautiful panoramic view of the village, the wall, and the rolling grasslands, the White Cliff Mountains in the distance, and the Labrang Monastery nearby.
