Being the largest salt-water lake that is inland, the ellipse-shaped Qinghai Lake lies northwest of Xining city, China. The lake reflects the picturesque scenery around it and hence it is also referred to as the 'green lake', 'fairyland', or 'blue sea'. The average day temperature is just 15C (59 F) making it a perfect summer tourist destination. There is an abundance of colors in this region. The trees offer a pleasant green touch to the scene around. The rapeseed flowers give a splash of bright yellow. In fact, the lake is also called the seven-colored lake because it reflects the different changing colors with the seasons.
