Taoping Village
Aba Prefecture, China
The 2000-years-old Taoping Village is located in Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, China. The people in the village belong to the Qiang minority ethnic group and still live a simple life in harmony with nature. The unique aspect of the village is its 31 interconnecting maze-like streets. Another amazing factor of the village is that it has an ancient subterranean water supply system that runs below the streets. The villagers have to just lift a stone slab nearest to their home to access water. There are souvenir shops where you can buy exquisite hand-embroidered wallets, handbags, costumes, and gift items.
