Humen Naval Battle Museum

Dongguan, China

Spread over an area of 200,000 square meters, the Humen Naval Battle Museum is located in Humen City, Guangdong Province, China. From afar, the museum looks more like a large battleship at the estuary of the Pearl River. The exhibits depict the naval battles during the Opium War of 1840-1842 and the Chinese people’s struggles. The site is divided into the Exhibition Hall, the Memorial Square, and the Sea Wall. Through various paintings, small working models, and sound and light effects, the horrors of the naval exercises during the Opium Wars and the Chinese triumph is depicted very vividly. There is also a separate section that displays the harmful effects of drug abuse.
