Gegentala Grasslands

Hohhot, China

A favorite of nature lovers, just 140 kilometers from Hohhot city, the Gegentala Grassland is a very scenic tourist attraction. Nearly 40,000 tourists visit the spot each year and the number is rising. A large number of tourists come here for the Naadam Festival in the motnh of August. It is a festival of games, recreation, gymnastic, contests, competitions, and horse racing. People come here from many parts of the world to not only participate in the sports but to also come and watch the games. This festival also marks the harvest season and symbolizes prosperity and joy.
