An unusual and interesting tourist attraction in Kunming is the Jiuxiang Scenic Area which is also known as the Museum of Karst Caves. It is the largest natural complex of interconnected karst (colorful rocks made up of dolomite, limestone, and gypsum) caves. The most visited areas are the Fairy Fields, Green Shady Valley, Grand Lion Hall, Bat Cave, Grand Underground Valley, and the Twin Waterfalls. At the Yi Minority Village you will be treated with traditional dance performances by the ethnic minority community. To exit the scenic area you can ride on horseback, walk, or use a chairlift.
