Considered the most serene and beautiful tourist attraction, the Western Hills Park near Kunming, China is full of greenery and flowering plants. The Park contains many interesting sites, some of which are the Huating and Taihua Temples, Dragon Gate, and the Sanqing Pavilion. The Huating Temple has beautiful golden Buddhist statues, including that of “Maitreya” or Laughing Buddha. There are also 500 life-size figures of the Arhats (gurus) with realistic expressions depicting various emotions. The Dragon Gate is famous because it almost entire made of stone, including the paths, rooms, grottoes, and the Buddhist statues carved from natural rocks.
