Ruins of Xiangxiong Kingdom

The Ruins of Xiangxiong Kingdom are part of the itinerary on the Qinghai-Tibet Railway tourist circuit. They are located near Nagchu, Ngari Prefecture, Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, China. The excavations have revealed that the kingdom existed before the Tubo Kingdom. The relics that have been excavated belonged to the Bon people of the Xiangxiong Kingdom. They include a temple, a sacred lake, residential caves, paintings on rock faces, etc. The findings show how prosperous the Bon people were and how they lived on farming and animal husbandry. There is evidence that they had good relations with the Tang Dynasty of China’s central plains.
