Book China Travel

It is believed that this temple was originally built at the beginning of the 15th century during the Ming Dynasty. However, it was destroyed several times before the Qing Dynasty did the final reconstruction. The Buddhists from the entire country and the rest of the world come to the Nanputuo Temple to pray throughout the year.

The famous locations to see inside the temple include Hall of the Celestial Kings featuring the smiling Maitreya Buddha, the Great Buddha’s Hall featuring Sakyamuni, Bhaishajyaguru, and Amitabha, and the Hall of Great Mercy. You can also find two pavilions, Longevity Towers, Free Life Pond, and a lotus pond inside the temple complex.
