Olive Plains

At 530 meters above sea level, the Olive Plains are the lowest region in the Xishuangbanna, Yunnan Province, China. Covering an area of 50 square kilometers, the Olive Plains (Ganlanba) is lush with coconut and oil palms, betul nut trees, banana trees, rubber plants, and other tropical vegetation. The Mekong River cuts through the Plains making the region even more beautiful. Many tourists have spotted beautiful peacocks and other flora and fauna during their visit to the Olive Plains. There are vast rice paddies too that the local Dai ethnic minority people cultivate for their sustenance. Their sticky rice and fish stew are considered a delicacy.
