The Swallow Cave

The Swallow Cave system, also called the Yanzi Cave Scenic Area is located in Honghe Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China. Spread over an area of 40,000 square meters, the cave system is considered the largest in the region. Within the cave, there are three main scenic spots and several historical treasures. The 100 stone tablets belonging to various dynastic periods are a wonderful sight. There are many statues across the expanse of the cave that depict Taoist, Confucian, and Buddhist beliefs and practices. The cave is surrounded by a dense forest of rubber, holly, camphor, and scent trees that repel insects.
