The Luding Bridge built over the Dadu River is located in the Luding County of Garze Tibetan Prefecture, Sichuan Province, China. This 300-year-old Qing Dynasty bridge is a historical symbol. During the Chinese Civil War, the wooden boards of the bridge had been removed to deny access to the Red Army. The daring soldiers of the Red Army used the chains of the suspension bridge and secured control over the bridge despite machine gun fire from the opposite side. Today, there is a Museum nearby that has exhibits depicting the incident. The bridge is also a popular route to reach other tourist attractions in the county.
