Nanwu Lamasery

The Nanwu Lamasery (Nanwu Si Monastery), a Tibetan Buddhist place of worship is located in Kangding Town, Garze Tibetan Prefecture, Sichuan Province of China. There are 80 resident monks who indulge in regular sessions of sutra-chanting and meditation. Like most of the other monasteries in the region, this Lamasery is a learning center for the Shaolin defensive martial arts techniques like Kungfu and Tai Chi. The Lamasery is surrounded by the most picturesque scenery of colorful karst caves, dense alpine forests, glacial mountain peaks, waterfalls, rivers, lakes, flora, and fauna. The sanctity of the Lamasery and the beauty of the scenic area makes it a very popular tourist attraction.
