Karola Glacier
Lhasa, China
The Karola Glacier is a major tourist attraction in Tibet because of its unique natural formation. Two parts of the glacier swoop down like tongues, giving visitors a brilliant view of its immense size and snowy-white color. It lies between the counties of Shannan and Gyantse. About 300 meters down the highway from Lhasa, there is a special lookout point which gives the best view of the glacier. The glacier that glitters under the sunlight, the bright blue sky, and the prayer flags in the valley below, give the place a heavenly appearance. If you visit in the summer, you will also get to see the lush green grasslands in the valley as well.
