Norbulingka is a great scenic spot that has natural beauty and examples of brilliant Tibetan architecture. The Kelsang Potrang, Takten Migyur Potrang, and the Tsokyil Potrang built by three Dalai Lamas have innumerable historical artworks and ancient relics. Of the three, the Tsokyil Potrang pavilion is built in the middle of a lake with stone bridges to join the banks. The Kelsang Gyatso has splendid murals on the walls. The Migyur Potrang is a combination of a temple and a villa. If you visit the Norbulingka site in July, you can enjoy the Shoton Festival when there are operas, traditional shows and dance performances.
