Bezeklik Thousand Buddha Caves in Xinjiang are one of the earliest examples of Buddhist cave art. The mesmerizing cave drawings in Bezeklik Thousand Buddha Caves are invaluable examples of cave art in general. The site is 45 far from Turpan. Today, there are 57 caves. Originally, there were more than 80. Even though the cave drawings were damaged through history, some parts are still well preserved. Rare, large murals painted in bright colors amaze visitors from around the world. Pieces of golden paper, specific ornaments and inscriptions still intrigue historians and art historians to this day.
