Bifengxia Gorge and Panda Breeding Center

In the year 2008, the Wolong National Nature Reserve in China suffered a massive earthquake. It was the natural habitat of giant pandas and after this calamity, the pandas were rendered homeless. About 60 pandas, including 13 babies were rescued and taken to the Bifengxia Gorge and Panda Breeding Center near the Ya'an City in the Sichuan Province. The Base serves as a giant panda breeding ground, a research center, as well as a tourist attraction rolled into one. It is divided into sections like the giant-panda baby care area, the breeding zone, the bamboo woods, the research center, and the office. Visitors are not permitted to click pictures of the pandas.
