The Hu Kaiwen Ink Factory is an ancient ink-stick factory that is still operating. The Huangshan region of China produces the best traditional art supplies in the world. The main product of this factory is a stick that is dry. But when rubbed against an inkstone with a little water, it produces the most beautiful colors that can be used for fine painting and calligraphy. This factory has hundred of molds so you can buy ink sticks of different shapes, sizes, and colors. The ink sticks are dried for a year and then decorated with delicate designs in gold and silver colored paints. This is a must-see tourist attraction and souvenirs site.
