Twin Pagoda Temple

The Twin Pagoda Temple (Shuang Ta Si or Yong Zuo Si) is situated in Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province, China. The temple has two 53-meters tall identical pagodas which were built during the rule of Emperor Wanli of the Ming Dynasty. The construction is of stone and bricks and each pagoda has 13 stories. The buildings are octagonal in shape with intricately decorated flying-style eaves. Each pagoda has a staircase right up till the top storey. The landscaped gardens around the temple have peony and clove plantations. The best time to visit this attraction is in spring (April and May) when flowers of both the trees are in full bloom. Climb to the top storey to get the best pictures!
