Big Wild Goose Pagoda
Xi'an, China
Also known as Dayan Pagoda, this ancient building is located about two miles from the center of Xi’an. The building has a total of seven stories and it is 211-feet high. It was constructed in the 7th century during the Tang Dynasty. In ancient China, it was among the vital locations for translating Buddhist text. Hierarch Xuanzan went all the way from ancient Xi’an to India, following the Silk Road, to obtain Buddha relics, figures, and various kinds of sutras. Today, they are located inside the Wild Goose Pagoda. Aside from the temple, you can find beautiful gardens and squares around the pagoda.
