Li Shan (Mount Li)
Xi'an, China
Li Shan (Mount Li) is a scenic area located near Xi’an, China. It is difficult to say whether the mountain peak is part of the Huaqing Palace or whether the palace is part of the mountainous scenic area because they seem to merge into one picturesque tourist attraction. What has made this spot a world-famous entity is the Museum of the Horses and the Terracotta Warriors. Mount Li has been a much-visited place since the Zhou Dynasty so there are beautiful villas surrounded by ancient cypresses and pines. The Sunset Pavilion gives you a fantastic panoramic view of the Huaqing Palace, the Wei River, the Laojun Palace, and the East Garden.
