Ni Family Residence

The Ni Family Residence is a frequently-photographed tourist attraction located in the Xitang Water Town, Zhejiang Province, China. This large mansion was the home of the affluent Ni family. They were a learned family and enjoyed the respect of all the residents in the town. This multi-storied mansion has countless rooms and a large five-layered courtyard. The architecture is typical of the Ming Dynasty period with large high-ceilinged rooms, ornate furniture, intricately decorated windows, massive carved wooden doors, and landscaped gardens. The residence is surrounded by canals, famous ancient bridges, quaint teahouses, souvenir shops, covered corridors, museums, and many other tourist attractions.
