The Xitang Ancient Water Town, Zhejiang Province, China is like an Oriental Venice. Yet it has a maze of lanes or walkways that have existed since ancient times. These 122 lanes are paved with stone and crisscross each other in between equally ancient structures. The Shipi Long or Stone Skin Lane is one of the oldest and most thriving commercial hubs of the town. Besides residences, it also has many cafes that serve local snacks, teahouses where the most aromatic local brews are available, and souvenir shops where you can buy handmade gift items. At 68-meters of length and 1-meter width, this is a long lane where tourists can shop or just relax and admire the picturesque town.
