Qiangang Village
Guangzhou, China
With houses dating back to the Song and Ming Dynasties, the 800-years-old Qiangang Village is located in Guangzhou, China. There are more than 900 families in the village, all belonging to the “Lu” clan and having the same surname. The village roads are still paved with pebbles, bricks, and garden stones so there is absolutely no dust. The villagers’ homes are also built with locally available materials like mud, bamboo, and stones. Surprisingly, the village has nine well-known academies that specialize in traditional learning methods. What makes it a part of the tourist circuit is its beautiful natural landscapes and the way in which the people live in harmony with nature.
