To get a complete history of modern China, its illustrious military history, and glimpses of its glorious revolution; you must visit the Whampoa Military Academy (Huangpu Military Academy) on Changzhou Island, Guangzhou. This museum was a military academy built by Sun Yat-sen. This was achieved through a collaborative effort between the Chinese and the Russians. The Academy has a wonderful collection of historical relics including different types of war weapons and tanks. The Sun Yat-sen Memorial Building is worth a visit too.
