Dongyue Taoist Temple

Considered the largest temple of Taoism in China, the 700-year-old Dongyue Temple is located in the Chaoyang District near Beijing. It is situated on one of the Five Great mountains of China and is dedicated to the God of Mount Tai. Besides having architectural grandeur, the temple houses the Beijing Folklore Museum which has exquisite relics from the Yuan Dynasty. The archway leading to the museum itself is an architectural masterpiece with its glazed yellow tiles and red pearl at the top. When you enter the Dragon Tiger Gate you will get a splendid view of Mount Tai and the picturesque countryside around it.
