Chongming Island

Also known as Chungming, Chongming County is an alluvial island that covers an area of 1,267 square kilometers. It is made up of the Hengsha and Changxing islands. Situated on the mouth of the Yangtze River, it has many scenic areas since ancient times. The Dongtan Wetland Park lies in the east, the Ruihua Orchards, Jinaoshan Park, Chongming Museum, and Shou’an Temple in the central region, the Mingzhu Lake Park, Xisha Resort, and the agro-entertainment Village Lugang are in the west. The parks attract a variety of beautiful migratory birds. There are many recreational facilities like forest zip-line, grass skiing, forest golf, forest tennis, rock climbing, and forest sunbath.
