Considered an artist’s delight, the Fengjing Ancient Town is like the “Venice” of China. Situated in Shanghai, the ancient town is inter-connected by a network of canals and 52 bridges. The Zhihe Bridge is believed to be 700 years old and is still sturdy. The town has developed into a quaint tourist attraction because it is so beautiful and peaceful. The ancient town has its fair share of souvenir shops. It also has many restaurants where you can sit back and absorb the rural beauty while you watch farmers and artists at work. The local specialties are wine, Zhuang Yuan cake, and Fengjing pork dishes. Definitely a must-see!
